Cabling & Infrastructure Projects: See Our Work

Tell us about the building

Drawings if you have them, the number of drops or rooms, whether the space is under construction or occupied, and your timeline are enough to start. We come back with a count and a quote.

What do you need help with?

Low-Voltage Cabling Services

Pathways, cable, racks and termination designed together, so every system that rides on the cabling works on day one and ten years from now.

Structured cabling: Cat6, Cat6A & fiber

Horizontal and backbone cabling designed to TIA standards, certified with test reports for every drop, so the network you pay for is the network you get.

Rack & IDF build-outs

Racks, patch panels, cable management and power assembled, dressed and labeled so any technician can trace a port in seconds, years from now.

Security & access control cabling

Cabling for cameras, door readers, locks, intercoms and alarm panels, run and terminated so the security integrator, often us, can commission on day one.

Pre-wire & rough-in for new construction

Pathways, conduit, boxes and cable pulled while walls and ceilings are open, coordinated with your GC, architect and owner's rep so nothing is cut open later.

Fiber-connected racks in a data center

Bandwidth upgrades & retrofits

Cat6A and fiber upgrades in occupied buildings, re-termination and certification of existing runs, and rack cleanups that end cable chaos, with cutovers after hours.

AV, Wi-Fi & automation cabling

Speaker wire, HDMI and HDBaseT, display drops, access point runs and control wiring for lighting and shades, planned alongside the AV design.

How We Plan a Cabling Project

We work through these four points with you during design, before the first cable is pulled.

Standards & certification

TIA-568 design, manufacturer-certified components and a printed test report for every link at handover.

Pathways & code

Plenum ratings, firestopping, conduit fill and separation from power handled correctly the first time, so inspections pass.

Labeling & documentation

Every cable, port and panel labeled to one scheme, with as-built drawings so future moves and adds take minutes.

Schedule & coordination

Rough-in, trim and testing sequenced with the construction schedule, and after-hours work in occupied buildings.

Industries We Serve

Cabling designed for how each building is used and what will run on it.

Our Cabling Installation Process

Twenty drops or two thousand, the sequence is the same, and every link is certified before handover.

  1. Drawings & walkthrough

We review architectural and MEP drawings, walk the site and count every drop, pathway and rack location with your team.

  2. Design & submittals

Cable schedule, pathway plan, rack elevations and labeling scheme, submitted for approval with a fixed, itemized quote.

  3. Rough-in

Pathways, conduit, boxes and cable pulled while the building is open, sequenced with the GC schedule.

  4. Trim & termination

Faceplates, patch panels and racks terminated and dressed after finishes are in, with every cable labeled.

  5. Testing & certification

Every copper link and fiber strand tested to spec, with a certification report delivered at handover.

  6. As-builts & support

Drawings, port maps and photos handed over, then our field team handles moves, adds and changes as the space evolves.

Cabling Support & Changes

DIST field crews handle the moves, adds and changes that follow every fit-out, and our help desk answers 24/7 when a link goes down.

  • Moves, adds and changes on request
  • Re-termination, testing and re-certification
  • Rack cleanups and cable re-dressing
  • Emergency repairs after damage or renovation
  • As-built updates and port documentation
  • Support for cabling installed by other contractors

Low-voltage cabling questions

Cost, cable categories, construction coordination and certification, answered.

How much does structured cabling cost?

It is usually priced per drop and depends on cable category, run length, pathway difficulty and whether the building is open or occupied. Fiber backbones, racks and conduit are itemized separately. After a walkthrough we send a fixed quote with every drop counted.

Cat6 or Cat6A: which should I install?

Cat6A supports 10 Gbps over the full 100 meters and the higher PoE loads of modern access points and cameras, so we recommend it for new construction. Cat6 remains cost-effective for shorter runs and simple office drops. Fiber is used for backbones between floors and buildings.

Do you work with general contractors on new builds?

Yes. Most of our cabling work is on new construction and renovations, coordinated with GCs, architects and owner's reps from drawings through punch list. We attend coordination meetings and sequence rough-in and trim with the schedule.

Can you cable an occupied office without disrupting work?

Yes. Upgrades and retrofits are done after hours or in phases, with cutovers scheduled so staff arrive to working connections.

Is your cabling certified and tested?

Every link is tested with a certified field tester to TIA standards, and you receive the report at handover. We install manufacturer-certified systems that qualify for extended warranties.

Do you also install the network and AV equipment?

Yes. DIST designs and installs the switches, Wi-Fi, cameras, access control, conference rooms and audio the cabling serves, so one team owns the whole system.

Can you clean up an existing rack?

Yes. We re-dress, re-label and re-terminate existing racks, replace failing patch cords and document every port, usually in a single after-hours visit.

Where do you install low-voltage cabling?

Nationwide. We handle single sites and multi-site rollouts across the United States with our own field technicians.

Planning a build-out or a cabling upgrade?

Send us the drawings, the drop count and the timeline. A DIST engineer will walk the site, then come back with a cable schedule, a sequence and a fixed quote.
