Commercial Audio Projects: See Our Work

Tell us about your space

The type of space, its size, whether it is new construction or an upgrade, and your timeline are enough to start. We come back with next steps and a site walk if needed.

What do you need help with?

Commercial Audio Services

New builds or upgrades, we design, install and program the full system with our own team.

Surface-mount loudspeaker installed on a slatted wood wall

Sound system design

Speaker layout, coverage and amplification planned from your floor plan and ceiling heights, so every seat gets even sound at the level you want.

DIST technician walking a venue during construction with speakers installed overhead

Audio for new construction

Pre-wire, backing and rough-in scheduled with your general contractor, so speakers and cable go in while walls and ceilings are still open.

Loudspeaker mounted under a wood ceiling in a restaurant

Zoned & distributed audio

Separate music, volume and paging for the dining room, bar, patio and restrooms, all run from one wall panel or app.

DIST technician cutting in an in-ceiling speaker

Speaker installation

In-ceiling, pendant, surface-mount and outdoor speakers mounted, aimed and wired by our own crews, indoors or out.

Upgrades to existing systems

New speakers, amplifiers, processing or controls added to the system you already have, installed with as little downtime as possible.

Racks, cabling & integration

Equipment racks built and labeled, low-voltage cable run and terminated, and audio tied in with video, lighting and network.

Audio Programming & Tuning

Good speakers only sound right once the system is programmed and tuned for the room they are in.

DSP configuration

Processors programmed for routing, limiting and feedback control, so the system protects itself and stays easy to run.

EQ balancing

Each zone equalized with measurement tools, so speech stays clear and music stays full without harshness.

Audio zoning

Zones, sources and volume limits set so staff can change the music in one area without touching the others.

Room tuning

Final tuning in the finished space, with furniture in place, to account for glass, wood, concrete and crowd noise.

Industries We Serve

Audio systems designed around how each space is used.

Our Audio Installation Process

The same six steps for a single retail store or a multi-zone venue.

  1. Site walk & listening review

We review the space, the drawings and how you want it to sound, and listen to the current system if there is one.

  2. System design

Speaker layout, zones, equipment list and signal flow, with a fixed proposal you can compare line by line.

  3. Pre-wire & rough-in

Cable, backing and boxes installed with your contractor on new builds, or routed cleanly through finished spaces on upgrades.

  4. Installation & rack build

Speakers mounted and aimed, amplifiers and processors racked, labeled and connected.

  5. Programming & tuning

DSP, EQ and zones programmed, then tuned in the finished room with measurement tools.

  6. Handover & support

Your staff learn the controls, you get as-built documentation, and our help desk takes over from there.

Audio Maintenance & Support

Systems drift as rooms change and equipment ages. DIST offers scheduled check-ups, a 24/7 help desk and on-site service wherever your systems are.

  • Scheduled audio check-ups and re-tuning
  • Remote monitoring of networked amplifiers and processors
  • Repairs and replacement of speakers and amplifiers
  • Changes to zones, sources and playlists
  • Support for systems installed by other integrators

Sound too muddy, too loud in one corner or dead in another? Tell us about it and we will tell you why.

Commercial audio questions

Cost, upgrades, speakers and tuning.

How much does a commercial sound system cost?

It depends on the size of the space, the number of zones and speakers, and whether it is new construction or an upgrade. A small retail store and a multi-zone restaurant with a dance floor are very different budgets. After a site walk we send a fixed, itemized proposal.

Can you upgrade our existing audio system?

Yes. We review what you have, keep the speakers and wiring that are still in good shape, and replace or add amplifiers, processing, speakers or controls where the system falls short.

When should audio be planned in a new build?

As early as possible, ideally during design. Pre-wire and backing need to go in before walls and ceilings close, so we coordinate with your architect and general contractor from the start.

What types of speakers do you install?

In-ceiling, pendant, surface-mount, outdoor, subwoofers and line arrays from brands like K-Array, Martin Audio, QSC, JBL, Bose and Fulcrum. We choose based on the room, the ceiling and the look you want.

Can different areas play different music?

Yes. A zoned system lets each area have its own source and volume, controlled from a wall panel, tablet or phone.

What is DSP programming and why does it matter?

A digital signal processor handles routing, EQ, limiting and feedback control. Programming it properly is what makes a system sound clear, stay consistent between zones and protect the speakers from damage.

How long does an audio installation take?

A single-zone space is often installed and tuned in a few days. Larger multi-zone venues usually take one to several weeks, scheduled around construction or your business hours.

Do you offer maintenance after installation?

Yes. We offer scheduled check-ups and re-tuning, remote monitoring of networked equipment, and a 24/7 help desk, including for systems other integrators installed.

Where do you install commercial audio?

Nationwide. We handle single sites and multi-site projects across the United States.

Planning a new sound system?

Send us the address, the type of space and your timeline. A DIST engineer will walk the site, then come back with a design, a schedule and a price.
